The Abarth 1300 OT was born in 1965 at the behest of Carlo Abarth, utilizing the design of the 1000 SP to create a homologated coupé. At least 50 units were built, making it eligible for road use but primarily intended for competition. During its two-year career, it achieved over 1,000 victories in both circuit and hill climb races, with private and factory drivers, culminating in the 1966 World Championship (1st Division Sport). Our car was built in 1966, with a certificate of origin dated July 14. It features a fiberglass body designed by Mario Colucci and produced by Sibona & Basano, originally painted in Red. Later, with Scuderia Nettuno, it was repainted in Yellow/Cream, featuring original black faux-leather seats, a black dashboard, and a gray chassis. Chassis number 137/0035. First registered in 1967 with Bologna license plate BO 335209, it was re-registered in 1969 with Parma plate PR156033, which it still retains today. In 1983, it was officially deregistered due to unpaid road tax. In the early 2000s, it was acquired by a collector and Abarth expert, who carried out a meticulous restoration respecting its originality, followed by its re-registration with the PRA. It received an ASI certification on April 13, 2005, and still holds its original 1969 registration document. There is extensive photographic documentation of the full restoration, along with over a hundred period photos, lists of race participants, work records, and other documents confirming its authenticity. The bodywork was restored by Faralli, a renowned vintage car restorer from Tuscany. The engine, suspension, and gearbox were rebuilt by Gianni Baistrocchi of Parma, an Abarth expert. The prestigious five-main-bearing, twin-cam dry-sump engine was bench-tested and tuned to 150 HP at 8,750 RPM. All components that historically caused reliability issues—such as the crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons, and valves—were replaced and precisely reconstructed using modern materials. The original engine components that remain in good condition are still available. The current engine is original but not the first The racing history of the car is divided among various private drivers, competing under the banners of Scuderia Nettuno of Bologna and S.
